Although the popularity of her music genre suffered since 1960's, Mireille Mathieu remained a popular artist in France and in most of countries. From the beginning, Mathieu loved to use trills which she associated with Parisian Songs (like Edith Piaf). Many of the songs she chooses, or writers produce for her, can almost be regarded as talking in song, rather than pure singing.
